Cudmirrah National Park surrounds the northern and western edges of Swan Lake and extends southward to Monument Beach. The main visitor areas within the park are located at Monument Beach and at Fisherman's Rock on Berrara Creek. Monument Beach Picnic Area can be reached by unsealed road or by walking along the beach from Berrara or Bendalong. These are short walks from the picnic area to the historic Walter Hood Monument, the beach and lagoon. Cudmirrah National Park covers an area of approximately 2,300 hectares. Wildlife is diverse and abundant. There are more than 160 species of birds inhabiting this area along with over a dozen threatened species. The park contains a variety of habitats including tall forest, woodlands, heath and freshwater swamps. Swan Lake itself is a superb, safe, aquatic playground where you can: Paddle a canoe; go fishing; go boating; enjoy sailboarding or waterskiing.
