What is Beach Front?

To be listed in the OzBeachFront Directory properties must be:

Absolute beachfront - on the beach, or on the road opposite the beach
On the Waterfront - for a bay, inlet, estuary or coastal lagoon
On the Shoreline - for a location that doesn't have a beach as such
As close as possible to the beach - when properties are set back from the beach or there is a reserve next to the beach - within a stones throw of the beach
On a small island - with direct access to the beach
The closest properties of a given type or size, to the beach or waterfront

We include outstanding properties that are set back, but close to the beach to provide diversity for users to choose from. Some holiday makers may prefer to stay back from the 'front row', or may want facilities that are not available in the 'front row'. At some locations there may be few properties right on the beach, or the range of types and facilities may be very limited. We aim to provide a range of property types and facilities for users to choose from, at each locality. Users can see the location of the properties on the owner's website or by contacting the owners directly.

We reserve the right to exclude properties that are not on the beach front or close to the beach, and we rate properties according to their proximity to the beach front or water front.

We have developed a rating system for proximity to the beach or waterfront.

=> Absolute beach front, waterfront or as close as possible to the water, beach or shore

=> Within 25 m of absolute beach front position, about 25 m to the water, beach or shore

=> Within 50 m of absolute beach front position, about 50 m to the water, beach or shore

4
=> Within 100 m of absolute beach front position, about 100 m to the water, beach or shore

5
=> More than 100 m from the water, beach or shore, but with water views and direct access to the beach.
